Habits: bad days matter more than the good days

In order to achieve goals and maintain habits, it is important to focus on systems rather than relying solely on willpower. Setting up systems that make it harder to fail, such as accountability and incentives, is more effective than relying on willpower alone. For example, when it comes to fitness, reducing the scope of a workout but sticking to the schedule is key. Even on bad days, showing up and doing something is important for maintaining the habit. The mindset and approach of consistently showing up and putting in effort on both good and bad days is crucial for long-term success in building habits.
