Attaching to Happiness

Happiness is a personal and evolving concept with no universal answers. It is important to explore what happiness means to oneself. Happiness is the state when nothing is missing, allowing for internal silence and contentment. It is not about positive or negative thoughts, but the absence of desire for external things. Embracing the present moment and accepting the reality of what is brings happiness. Nature has no concept of happiness or unhappiness, it follows an unbroken chain of cause and effect. The insignificance of self is significant in finding happiness, as viewing oneself as a material or recognizing the impermanence of life removes expectations. The neutral, present state is a perfection state where one can be truly happy. Children exemplify this happiness by being immersed in the present moment without personal preferences and desires.
