A group called SingularityMD claims to have stolen and published 200,000 student profiles from the Clark County School District in Nevada. The group gained access to the district's IT network by exploiting the use of students' birthdays as passwords. The hackers have demanded money in exchange for the return of the data. This is not the first time the district has been targeted, as it experienced a ransomware attack in 2020 and refused to pay the ransom.
