Behavioral tools for Mental and Physical Performance

The foundation of mental health, physical health, and performance lies in behavioral tools, which include specific actions to take and avoid. Examples of behavioral tools are viewing morning sunlight and exercise, which do not require the ingestion of anything. In addition to these actions, there are also certain don'ts or do nots that can enhance mental health, physical health, and performance, such as avoiding bright light exposure to the eyes between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. and avoiding late afternoon caffeine intake. Even if one can fall asleep after ingesting caffeine, it disrupts sleep architecture and diminishes mental health, physical health, and performance the following day. Therefore, behavioral tools serve as the foundational layer of all tools for mental health, physical health, and performance.
