Discerning True Prophecy from False Prophecy

True prophecies are meant for edification, exhortation, and comfort. If a prophecy discourages or saddens you without any other positive aspects, it is not from the Holy Ghost. True prophecies will also come with correction. False prophecies can be identified by their negative nature and lack of edification or comfort.
