Speculating the ideal price point for the 15 inch MacBook Air
The M2 MacBook Air had quality of life improvements, but the performance was only a modest bump. However, the battery life and performance of the M1 MacBook Air is impressive. The 15 inch MacBook Air could have a transformative effect due to its bigger screen. Apple should price the 15 inch MacBook Air in the $1,500 range to attract customers who want a bigger screen. It should be cheaper than the 14 inch MacBook Pro, which starts at $2,000. Pricing it too close to the pro models would not be ideal. The MacBook Air should offer 16 gigabytes of RAM standard, but it is likely that Apple will offer only 8 gigabytes of RAM. Nonetheless, if the 15 inch MacBook Air is priced around $1,400 or $1,500, it is predicted to be a huge success. This is because 8 gigabytes of RAM is sufficient for most users. Apple should be cautious not to make the MacBook Air pricing strategy similar to that of the iPad, where customers end up paying more and getting features they may not need or want.
