*Writing a book on How To Live for your children *
The author chose not to read while writing How To Live because he wanted to put everything he had ever learned into that one book. The rough draft was 1300 pages, and it was like a life dump. The author had heard other parents express the desire to share their wisdom with their children in case they don't live long enough, and How To Live was partly inspired by this idea. The goal was to capture everything important the author had ever learned in his life in this one book.
