Dieting: addition, not deduction is the key to losing weight

New research suggests that adding more protein to your diet, rather than eliminating or severely restricting certain foods, is the key to losing weight. A study comparing high protein, calorie restricted, and intermittent fasting diets found that eating more protein resulted in greater weight loss, improved blood lipids, and lower blood sugar. Participants in the high protein group consumed 30% of their calories from protein and also ate 40% of their daily calories from carbs. This simple change of adding more protein to your diet can be an effective and sustainable weight loss strategy. Consistency in eating and enjoying protein is the foundation of an effective plan.
