What You Need to Know to Actualize The Goal of the Spiritual Path, in a Nutshell
Tantra Illuminated with Dr. Christopher Wallis
Understanding is not a prerequisite for love.
Human relationships and emotions exist beyond the realm of thought, often manifesting prior to any cognitive understanding. Engaging in therapy may offer a sense of clarity; however, true progress often stems from reaching a mental state that facilitates forgiveness, letting go, and relaxation. This mental shift is not necessarily rooted in genuine understanding but rather in adopting thoughts that enable emotional release. One can find value in emotional experiences without the need for intellectual justifications. The idea that understanding is essential for forgiveness or self-acceptance is misleading; in reality, the truth of relationships, embodiment, and life itself is non-conceptual. Consequently, love can thrive independently of understanding, proving that it is possible to love without needing the other person or oneself to be fully understood.
