Controlling Heart Rate Through Inhales and Exhales

Controlling heart rate can be achieved by adjusting the length and intensity of inhales and exhales. To increase heart rate, inhales should be longer and more vigorous than exhales. Conversely, to decrease heart rate, exhales should be longer and more vigorous than inhales. This process, known as respiratory sinus arrhythmia, is the foundation of heart rate variability.
