The author Roger Martin is the business thinker and public intellectual who shaped my thinking the most. His book 'The Opposable Mind' explores how good leaders can hold opposing thoughts in their mind and make them work. Roger's book with AJ Laffley, 'Playing to Win', is another favorite of mine on strategy. 'Fixing the Game' is his book that delves into the role of capitalism in society. If you want a business-focused book, I recommend anything written by Roger Martin. Another impactful book is 'Creativity, Inc.' by Ed Catmall, which is a great leadership memoir. 'American Icon' tells the story of Alan Mulally, who is considered one of the greatest living CEOs. We should focus more on telling stories about positive servant leaders like Alan, Ed, and Sally Crocik instead of always focusing on negative stories.
