Discovering a brain tumor the size of a golf ball after years of unnoticed growth. Going through surgery and radiation treatment for two years to remove parts of the tumor. Feeling scared and terrified about the tumor being in the brain. Dealing with the disbelief of having a brain tumor without any noticeable symptoms. Experiencing stages of trying to understand the situation. Feeling a mix of gratitude for the life experienced so far and sadness for not having had kids yet. The terrifying prospect of brain surgery despite it being not as bad as anticipated. Radiation treatment being unpredictable and affecting cognitive function. The unsettling feeling of being on Alzheimer's medication during radiation treatment. Relief when finding out the medication was the cause. Recovery from surgery and the physical impact of having a part of the skull removed. Being surprised by the lack of critical thinking when it came to trusting doctors and hesitating to explore second opinions.
