Balancing Focused Mode and Diffused Mode of Thinking

There are two modes of thinking: focused mode and diffused mode. In the focused mode, we actively try to solve a problem in a specific space. In the diffused mode, our brain works in the background, often resulting in shower thoughts or moments of sudden insight. Balancing the two modes is crucial. Stepping away from a problem and engaging in activities that activate the diffused mode, such as doodling or playing with ideas, can lead to finding solutions without even trying.
