Picasso had a terrifying attitude towards women, viewing them as either goddesses or doormats. He would steal friends' wives and justify it as an honor. His distorted paintings of women were closely linked to his pleasure in hurting them. One of his mistresses, who was beautiful and gifted, was beaten and left unconscious.
