Erik Everhard: Legendary Adult Film Star Shares How Viagra Changed the Industry & Is Destroying Their Bodies
Viagra started to change the adult film industry around 2002, bringing a shift in the old guard's perspective. In the past, performers were strictly against taking any sort of drugs to enhance performance on set. However, with the introduction of Viagra, attitudes started to shift. The old guard quickly accepted it, while some producers even banned performers caught using it. Over time, the use of Viagra became more common, but it has now escalated to the point where some performers are injecting chemicals regularly. This misuse of performance-enhancing substances has led to serious health issues, including the need for penis pumps. Unfortunately, younger performers lack awareness of the long-term consequences and perceive this as the norm. They cannot imagine a time when performance without drugs was possible. With the retirement of many performers from the old guard, the current generation lacks role models who can provide a different perspective. This has resulted in a change in personality traits among performers, with two distinct camps emerging: those who were introverted and driven by a desire to prove themselves, and those who came from a male stripper background and were comfortable with nudity. Overall, Viagra has brought significant changes to the adult film industry, both positive and negative, but the misuse of performance-enhancing substances remains a concerning issue.
