NOTE

How Light Impacts Circadian Rhythms

The intensity and timing of light exposure play a critical role in regulating circadian rhythms. Bright light in late hours can activate depressive pathways, while reducing overall light intensity in the evening is crucial. Blue light blockers are unnecessary; instead, dimming lights, especially in the lower visual field, and exposing oneself to low solar angle light in the afternoon are effective. Blue light is beneficial early in the day but should be avoided late at night. Adjusting light exposure by viewing morning and evening light and avoiding bright lights between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. are key practices for improving mental and physical health.
