Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy Wants a Second American Revolution
Honestly with Bari Weiss
Ramaswamy's Outlook on Decoupling From China
The American policy on China should be to get China to either reform dramatically or be prepared to cut ties. The US should re-enter the trade relationships in the CPTPP and establish trade relationships with countries like South Korea, Japan, India, Vietnam, Australia, and others in the Pacific Rim. This will put the US in a strong position to be independent from China. China should play by the same set of rules with no IP theft, data theft, or using companies as mercantilist pawns. The conflict of interest between Wall Street and China should be addressed, where companies like BlackRock have ties to China while voting on behalf of American shareholders. Americans may not have to pay more for goods if the US reenters trade relationships with other countries, rather than trying to onshore all production. Reestablishing these relationships will avoid the need to force higher prices on Americans.
