Early days of Same day delivery : Amazon's experiment on top of Uber

In the early days of same day delivery, Amazon ran an experiment on top of Uber. They would load drivers' cars with packages and give them a manifest, all coordinated through burner phones. Despite being a multi-billion dollar company, Amazon was comfortable running this hack experiment on Uber, something most companies would not do. This shows that Amazon has institutionalized a culture of experimentation and risk-taking.
