The Freedom of Being Your Age

The best part about being your age is that you don't have to please anybody except for the people you love and care for. You don't have to follow anyone's lead or conform to fashion. Looking good is for your own satisfaction, not to please others. It took years to attain this freedom, as during youth and mature years, there was a constant need to prove oneself. Life experiences were like tests that had to be endured. However, now there is a sense of absolute freedom, without the need for validation. The final test will be old age and dependence, followed by death. But for now, this period of life is wonderful and free from being tested.
