- The Different Perspectives on Anger and Its Uses
Anger can be seen from two different perspectives: the light and the dark. In the light, anger is viewed as something that should be controlled and suppressed, as shown in stoic ideology. On the other hand, in the dark, anger is seen as a powerful tool that can be used for personal growth and to fight against injustice, as advocated by Audrey Lord. Marilu Gones also supports the idea that anger can be clear-headed and believes that there are different types of anger that should be accurately named. Anger can even be considered as an act of self-care and a way to protect oneself from gaslighting. The traditional perception of anger as negative and destructive is challenged, and instead, anger is viewed as informative, useful, and clear-headed in the dark perspective.
