Life consists of finite and infinite games. Finite games are played to win, while infinite games are played to keep playing. In a fight with a spouse or a friend, it is a finite game where one person wins and the other loses. However, a relationship with a friend or a spouse is an infinite game.

Derek Thompson weaves together ideas from all over the place — economics, public policy, sports, and even pop culture.
