China does not attract the best and brightest innovators and is limited in its ability to foster innovation. India, although having many elements in place for innovation, lacks the necessary infrastructure and has a culture that is anti-innovation due to poverty levels. However, there are positive signs of innovation emerging in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi. In order for India to become an innovation hub, it needs to become richer, have a competent government, and provide attractive living conditions for innovators. There is also a potential concern about a global movement that may seek to hinder innovation.
