The Slow Carb Diet is a simple and easy-to-follow diet that aims to improve body composition by increasing muscle mass and decreasing body fat. The diet consists of several basic rules: 1) Don't drink calories, which means avoiding beverages with calories; 2) Don't eat anything white, including starches and foods similar to starches, with a few exceptions like cauliflower; 3) Eat 30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking up; 4) Create meals using vegetables, beans and lentils, and some type of protein without deviating for a period of one or two weeks; 5) Take one day off per week for a cheat day where anything goes; 6) Avoid consuming fruit and fructose during the week, including hidden sugars and added sweeteners. The inclusion of lentils and beans in meals adds fiber and helps to inhibit appetite. Following these rules can lead to successful body recomposition.
