Almost any hobby can serve as passive training by requiring full attention without the use of screens. Active training involves practicing maintaining focus on difficult tasks, such as deliberate practice in sports or solving puzzles in chess. By developing comfort with boredom and practicing concentration, individuals can improve their ability to focus on cognitive demanding tasks in their professional lives.
