Optimal Timing for Adrenaline Release Boosts Learning and Memory

Taking a drug that increases adrenaline or related molecules that create alertness and emotionality can enhance learning and memory. Researchers found that the best time window to evoke the release of these chemicals is either immediately after or just a few minutes after repeating the information or performing the skill. This contradicts the common approach of taking stimulants before or during the learning process. Instead, the study suggests taking the compounds late in the learning episode or immediately after to achieve a significant increase in epinephrine and related molecules that improve memory.
