Yeḥezkel Kaufmann

Yehezkel Kaufmann was a prominent Israeli philosopher and biblical scholar. Born in Ukraine in 1889, he studied at the yeshiva of Rabbi Chaim Tchernowitz and later at the University of Berne. He became a professor of Bible at Hebrew University in 1949 and is best known for his work on the history of Israelite religion.
