Tom Harper

Philipp Meyer is an American fiction writer, born on May 3, 1974. He is the author of the novels *American Rust* and *The Son*. Meyer has a diverse background, having worked as a first responder, a derivatives trader on Wall Street, and later pursuing his dream of becoming a writer. He received an MFA from the Michener Center for Writers and has been recognized with several awards and fellowships, including the 2009 Los Angeles Times Book Prize and a 2010 Guggenheim Fellowship.
