Thomas Story Kirkbride

Thomas Story Kirkbride was a physician, alienist, and hospital superintendent for the Institute of the Pennsylvania Hospital, and primary founder of the Association of Medical Superintendents of American Institutions for the Insane, the organizational precursor to the American Psychiatric Association.
