Born on October 26, 1925, in Jackson Heights, Queens, he graduated from Columbia College and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary. He served as a parish priest for nearly thirty years before devoting more time to his writing career. Capon authored over twenty books, combining his interests in theology, cooking, and hospitality.
