Publius Ovidius Naso (Ovid)

Roman poet, born on March 20, 43 BC, in Sulmo, Italy. He is renowned for his works in elegiac couplets and epic poetry, including the famous 'Metamorphoses'. Ovid was exiled to Tomis by Emperor Augustus and died there around AD 17.
