Larry Townsend

Larry Townsend (27 October 1930 – 29 July 2008) was an American author, activist, and psychologist. He was a key figure in the gay leather culture and wrote numerous books, including 'The Leatherman's Handbook' and 'Run, Little Leather Boy'. Townsend was a pioneer in the homophile liberation movement and worked as a journalist, photographer, and probation officer. He received several awards for his contributions to the leather community and gay culture.
