Kyung-Sook Shin

Kyung-Sook Shin is a South Korean writer born in 1963 near Jeongeup in Jeolla Province. She debuted in 1985 with the novella Winter's Fable and has since published seven novels, six short story collections, and several non-fiction books. She is the first South Korean and first woman to win the Man Asian Literary Prize, awarded in 2012 for Please Look After Mom. Her work often explores themes of family, memory, and identity.
