James L. Swanson

James L. Swanson is an American author and historian, born on February 12, 1959. He is a Lincoln scholar and has studied and collected materials related to Abraham Lincoln's life and death since he was ten years old. Swanson graduated from the University of Chicago and the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. He has held various government and think-tank posts, including at the United States Department of Justice and the Heritage Foundation. He serves on the advisory council of the Ford's Theatre Society.
