Jack O'Connell (1921-2010) was a CIA station chief and later served as Jordan's lawyer in Washington. He was deeply involved in Middle Eastern affairs, notably in Jordan, where he developed a close relationship with King Hussein and played a key role in unraveling a coup in 1958.
