Guo Jian

Yang Jisheng is a Chinese journalist and author born in November 1940. He joined the Communist Party in 1964 and worked for the Xinhua News Agency until his retirement in 2001. His loyalty to the party was broken by the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre. He is known for his detailed and critical accounts of Chinese history, particularly the Great Chinese Famine and the Cultural Revolution.
