
Gary B. Gorton
Gary Bernard Gorton is the Frederick Frank Class of 1954 Professor of Finance at Yale School of Management. He is an American economist known for his research on financial markets, banking, and the 2008 financial crisis. Prior to Yale, he was the Robert Morris Professor of Banking and Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania for 24 years. He has also served as a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and as director of the research program on banks and the economy for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
