Gaius Sallustius Crispus (Sallust)

Roman statesman and historian, born around 86 BC in Amiternum. He was a partisan of Julius Caesar and is known for his historical monographs, including 'The Conspiracy of Catiline' and 'The Jugurthine War'. Sallust's works are notable for their narrative technique and critique of Roman corruption.
