Frederick Whittaker

Frederick Whittaker was a Civil War cavalry officer, best-selling author, and biographer. Born in England in 1838, he immigrated to New York and served in the 6th New York Cavalry during the Civil War. After the war, he became a prominent writer, producing over 80 novels and biographies, including the controversial biography of General George A. Custer.
