Dogen

Japanese Sōtō Zen monk who lived during the Kamakura period and founded the Sōtō school of Zen in Japan after travelling to China and training under Rujing, a Caodong master. He is known for his extensive writing, most notably the Shōbōgenzō, and his focus on zazen.
