David Walker

David Walker (1797?-1830) was a courageous and visionary African American leader and activist. Born to a free mother and an enslaved father in Wilmington, North Carolina, he grew up free and later moved to Boston where he played a significant role in the African American community. Walker was an evangelical Christian and a radical abolitionist who publicly demanded the immediate end of slavery in the United States. His work had a lasting influence on the struggle for equal rights and racial justice.
