Anonymous epitomizer of Jason of Cyrene

The Second Book of Maccabees is an abridgment of a five-volume history written by Jason of Cyrene, a Hellenistic Jewish historian from the 2nd century BCE. The original work is lost, and the surviving book was composed in Greek, likely around 100 BCE, by an unknown author who condensed Jason's history.
