Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn

Russian novelist, dramatist, and historian who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1970. He is best known for his works that exposed the Soviet forced labor camp system, including 'The Gulag Archipelago' and 'One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich'. Solzhenitsyn's experiences in the gulag system heavily influenced his writing.
