In the very near future, we can expect to see the world transformed in radical ways by AI—and not necessarily for the better. As the New York Times puts it in a review of the AI 2027 report: "Losing your job may be the best-case scenario."

AI 2027 is a detailed scenario for the future of AI that was developed by Daniel Kokotajlo, formerly of OpenAI, and a number of other industry experts. It offers a month-by-month breakdown of potential scenarios, clearly marking the points where AI could turn into a demon (of sorts) that destroys humanity.
