Lichtenberger was born in 1987 in East Northport, New York. He started playing poker online on PartyPoker when he turned 18. However, it took some time for Lichtenberger to reveal his true talents. After playing cash games for awhile Andrew switched to MTTs and emerged as a highly successful tournament player. He eventually stepped into the live tournament arena in 2007. His first deep run in pursuit of a WSOP bracelet came in 2009, finishing as runner-up in a $5,000 Shootout event for over $200,000. Lichtenberger continued to rack up the cashes across the United States in the early 2010s, making more WSOP final tables in the process. The largest cash of Lichtenberger's career came in 2014 when he won the World Poker Tour Alpha8 Las Vegas for $2,104,245 before winning his first bracelet in 2016. In 2019, he narrowly missed out on another WSOP bracelet finishing second in the $50,000 High Roller for $917,232.
Lichtenberger is also a LearnWPT Instructor.
