He is a world-recognised authority on life with autism; the Neurodiversity Scholar in Residence at the College of William and Mary; and a member of the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee for the US Department of Health and Human Services. John is also a member of the International Society for Autism Research. He lives with his wife and son in Amherst, Massachusetts.
