I hope to make the case that “The Science of Reading” is not a useful label to describe the multiple goals of literacy; that investment in teacher professionalization is inoculation against being Sold A Story; and that the unproductive and divisive Reading Wars actually make it more difficult for us to think about

Nick is the creative director for the Human Restoration Project and former high school Social Studies teacher in Iowa public Schools. He promotes progressive education across the board.
