Michelle Owen is joined by Caoimhe O’Neill and Duncan Alexander to reflect on the seventh day of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

In Perth / Boorloo, Canada came from behind to defeat the Republic of Ireland which knocked The Girls In Green (Na Cailíní I Nglas) out of the competition.

In Group C, Spain thrashed Zambia 5-0 to qualify for the last 16 and knock the African side out of the competition in the process.

The Athletic’s Laia Cervelló Herrero was at the Auckland / Tāmaki Makaurau stadium and gave us her thoughts at the final whistle.

Spain’s win later in the day in Group C meant that Japan also qualified for the knockouts.

The 2011 world champions defeated Costa Rica 2-0, a result which also knocks Costa Rica out.

The Athletic’s Jacob Whitehead brought us the latest news from The Lionesses.

And ahead of The USA’s game against The Netherlands, The Athletic’s Meg Linehan gives us her thoughts as to where things are at with the USWNT.
