The changing face of emerging markets

Emerging markets stocks have come under pressure amid slowing economic growth and a brewing trade war, but the full story is much more complex. As veteran portfolio manager Noriko Chen explains in this podcast, not all emerging markets are the same and the outlook for EM stocks is as varied as the countries themselves.

Noriko Chen is an equity portfolio manager at Capital Group and a member of the Capital Group Management Committee. She has 27 years of investment experience, 19 of them with Capital. Earlier in her career, she covered Asian infrastructure, building materials and construction companies, as well as the oil and gas industry. Noriko holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Williams College and a degree in the Japanese Language Bekka Program at Keio University, Tokyo.
