Responding Cessationist - Kickstarter Trailer
Recently a group of filmmakers at "logic on fire" released a Kickstarter campaign for a documentary/film called "cessationist". The Kickstarter page claims that this film will "lovingly and carefully" disprove the charismatic doctrines. And that sounded really nice until I watched the trailer, where cessationists say things like "Cessationism has fallen out of favor because commitment to the authority of scripture has fallen out of favor". The trailer is literally two and a half minutes of strawman arguments that may apply to the wildly extreme hyper charismatic fringes, but certainly do not apply to the growing movement of careful continuationist. So today at 4PM CST we will engage with more Cessationist one-liners, but this time we will be addressing the one-liners from the Kickstarter commercial.
