Meri Burgess is a circus artist, dancer, software developer, and general art-and-movement enthusiast based in the front range of Colorado. She specializes in pole dance and cyr wheel, but has also frequently performed aerial, contortion, stilt walking, and roller skating. Meri is known for her experimental conceptual pole performances, working with unique invented apparatuses such as the "tree pole", and developing and integrating bespoke AI and motion tracking technology into her work. She graduated from the Frequent Flyers professional training program in aerial dance performance in 2015, is the 2020 Pole Sport Organization national artistic pole champion, and currently runs Inanimate 48, an annual apparatus based dance-meets-film event that takes place online and is open to anyone who wishes to exercise their creativity with weight bearing objects.
